Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum provides specialized nursing care to postpartum mothers and their newborns in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes. The nurse is expected to maintain strong communication skills and deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced environment, requiring a minimum of two years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor maternal and neonatal health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn care practices.
• Utilize the Epic charting system for accurate and timely documentation.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding infection control and patient safety.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in mother-baby or postpartum care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, preferably Epic.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in an acute care hospital environment.
• Familiarity with couplet care models.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Special Considerations:

• Work is performed in an acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds.
• Scrub color for RNs is navy blue; L&D/OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided by facility.
• Parking fees apply: $10 hang-tag, $35 key-card, or payroll deductions.
• Local candidates accepted; pending licenses are not accepted.

Scheduling:

• Shift assignments and schedules determined by hospital policies in a fast-paced acute care setting.
• Start date is ASAP.
