About The Smith

The Smith is an extremely popular casual neighborhood brasserie – in fact, several of our locations are among the Top 100 busiest restaurants in the US! The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Our signature lively atmosphere makes The Smith a versatile setting for an after-work bite, drinks on the town, a birthday bash, a working lunch, a bountiful brunch, or an I-don’t-want-to-cook-tonight night.

The Position: Assistant General Manager

• Assist directly with hiring and training decisions for the front of house team
• Hold team accountable for company food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff
• Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained Wash glassware as needed. 
• Be attentive of all guests and managers while on the floor creating a great guest experience for all.
• Make sure all new employee go through the proper training and have all the necessary tools to be successful in their position.
• Enforce and maintain all labor laws and practices.
• Assist the General Manager in all forecasting and budgeting.
• Attend all necessary senior management meetings in the absence of the General Manager.

What Makes You Great :

• You have at least four years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or Senior Restaurant Leader, supporting a GM in mentoring and developing junior managers .
• You are confident in building and leading a strong team.
• You oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained at all times.
• You exemplify the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
• You are highly confident in your abilities and are detail-oriented.
• You are a team player and have excellent communication skills.
• You genuinely get joy out of making people happy and are able to have fun while working.
• You have a love and passion for the hospitality industry.

• You are willing to go above and beyond to please guests.

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $95,000-$110,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
